The Chairman
An entrepreneur shaped by turnarounds, institution building and the conviction that difficult situations can become enduring platforms.
Janaka Ratnayake began his career in audit, sales and information technology before becoming an entrepreneur in 1993. His work later extended into banking, export development, public utilities and real estate. Across those chapters, a recurring theme has been the willingness to accept responsibility where recovery, restructuring and decisive leadership are required.
That experience became central to Trillium’s modern story in 2011. He assumed responsibility for a partially completed residential development and the obligations attached to it, completed the final wing and rebuilt the business around delivery. Today, as Chairman and Chief Executive, he remains directly involved in the group’s investment, construction, hospitality and strategic decisions.
